I love this movie and recently watched it again for the third time. I also recently returned from five months in India. This movie takes me back there instantly. It is very true to life. The colors, the vibrancy, the noise… The unexpected kindness of strangers, the deep sense of love and loyalty, and the inability of some visitors to cope with it all. I encourage you to visit India if you haven’t and to visit again if you have. You’ll love it, I certainly do. -Rene
You’re right, even though I haven’t been there, all those characteristics are so brilliantly brought out through the film! I just found out it’s based on a book, as well, probably worth a read…
