One-way flights, personal aspirations and lottery tickets: things that distract us.

Inescapable routes, unaccomplished goals and losing lotto numbers: things we (just maybe) should be more grateful for.

Because what blinds us too often seems preferable to what brings us revelation. Its easier to focus on grand events, rather than the individual stumbles we take to achieve them.

So perhaps it’s time to re-evaluate that list of Reasons To Give Thanks: cover it in glitter and fold it into a pirate hat. Whatever it takes to remind us that easy rewards aren’t always so rewarding, and a truly thankful traveler accepts the challenges as part of the total journey.
